Straight answers to what people ask before they paste something into a website. bdrop is part of bstack, made and run by one person: me, Matias Barragan. The legal versions are the Privacy Policy and the Terms.
What is uploaded, and where it is kept
What you send is uploaded, because that is the only way it can reach your other device. Messages are kept on Cloudflare and files in Tigris, both under the drop's code, until the drop expires. Then they are deleted for good. A file can be up to 25 MB and a drop up to 100 MB. Nothing else about you is stored, and there are no analytics.
Who can see a drop
Anyone with the code. There are about 887 million codes and each network can open only 120 drops an hour, so guessing one is not practical. Still, treat a code like a key, and clear the drop when you are done.
What you can't send
Anything illegal. A drop that is reported stops showing its files at once, and I report illegal content to the authorities. The details are in the Terms.
How bdrop makes money
It doesn't. bdrop is free and stays free, with no limit beyond the ones that stop abuse. Later I plan an optional paid bstack Pro for things that cost money to run, like a history kept in your account. Nothing you can do today will move behind it. There are no ads, and I never sell what you send.
No AI
bdrop has no AI in it. It moves exactly what you send.
Is it open source?
Not today. If that changes, this page will say so. Questions go to mati@barragan.com.py.
